Offset Umbrellas

The sun moves.  It rises in the east and sets in the west (obviously). Does your patio umbrella move?  A directly overhead umbrella is not always the best choice. 

For example, if your patio is most often used in the evenings the sun may shine directly under a market or beach umbrella.  The offset patio umbrella then becomes a better choice.  You simply rotate the umbrella towards the sun blocking it out. 

Offset umbrellas are most often the best choice for a patio umbrella because most of us use the umbrella in the evening hours.  However, make sure you consider where your patio is.  An east facing patio next to the house may not need an offset umbrella whereas a west facing patio will almost always need an offset umbrella.
